Overseer Paul A. Smith

 

Overseer Smith was born at Fort Meade Army Hospital and attended public schools in East Baltimore. Overseer Smith’s varied academic and vocational background includes studies at Catonsville Community College of Mortuary Science, The Johns Hopkins School of Radiologic Technology, and Frostburg State University when in 1984, Overseer Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Overseer Smith’s activism history includes mobilizing against the South Africa Apartheid, police brutality, and racism.

Overseer Smith is the founder of Passpirit Ministry, Inc. 501C, tax-exempt. Overseer Smith is a Pastor to many outside of the walls of the physical building

Overseer Smith has worked in the insurance claims market for over thirty years. He moved from being a foreign claims specialist to Assistant Vice President during his work experience. He retired in December 2017 as the Director of Claims at the former University of Maryland Health Plans.

Overseer Smith was baptized at the Southern Baptist Church in East Baltimore at the age of ten.

In 1984, Overseer Smith united with Tenth Street Baptist Church; and served in many areas of outreach and evangelistic ministries including, but not limited to Missionary and evangelistic visitations to those sick and shut in. Overseer Smith also served faithfully for over 15 years in his leadership role in the Radio/Media Ministry. He was also Director of various Missionary societies. During this season, he was affectionally named Minister of the Mic. With a change in his life and a calling to further pursue ministry, he was licensed in 2004 at Tenth Street Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. A.C. Durant.

In 2011, he was ordained under the leadership of the late Reverend Ronald K. Austin. Overseer Smith pursued studies at the Wesley Theological Seminary. In June 2008, Overseer Smith earned a Certificate in Biblical Studies from the Calvary Bible Institute (CBI). Following his graduation from CBI, Overseer Smith earned a Diploma in Biblical Counseling from Light University and still currently maintains his professional designation as a Board Certified Biblical and Pastoral Counselor. He is currently still, in good standing with the American Association of Christian Counselors. Overseer Smith continues to be supportive and has partnered/chaired with various non-profits, including prison and hospital visitation ministries; provides outreach and feeding to the community as well as being supportive and counsel to other clergy and fellowships to date.

In February 2023, Overseer Smith was consecrated to the sacred office of Archbishop by the esteemed Treasure College of Bishops in Nigeria. He has also been awarded a Doctorate of Divinity by Treasure International Kingdom University & Seminary, located in Delta State, Nigeria.

Overseer Smith has received numerous recognitions for his servitude over the years. Overseer Smith is the recipient of many awards including, but not limited to:

        • WHO’s Who in American Business Recognition
        • Minister of the Radio/ Media Ministry – Tenth Street Baptist Southern Christian Leadership Presidential
        • Black Living Legend Resolution- Baltimore, Maryland City Council Community Leader Award – Lamond Riggs Citizens Association

Overseer Smith was formally First Vice President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Prince George, MD chapter, former Board Chair of 1441 Inc., and is currently VP of Sacred Hands, Inc. and a Trustee on the Lamond-Riggs Citizens Association.

In September 2022, by divine connection, Overseer Smith partnered with The Royal Generation Body of Christ Believers International, Inc. where currently he is Bishop-Elect and is now elevated to First Assistant Presiding Chief Apostle under the leadership of Chief Apostle/Presiding Lamont Robinson, Sr. Enthronement is scheduled for November 4th 2023 in New York City during the Ministry’s week-long Convocation.

In addition, by way of divine intervention, the Passpirit Ministry was called to pursue further ministry endeavors on the continent of Africa. The connection with Bishop Khisa Geoffrey, Christ House Benediction and Bishop Julius Atenya, Hope International – both in Kenya. Passpirit Ministry has accepted the position of General and Chairman at Christ House, soon to be renamed as Passpirit Ministry International. During this transition, Bishop Khisa will be elevated and along with several other seasoned Overseers, will carry the legacy of passpirit Ministry in the years ahead all over the continent, including a future Passpirit Ministerial Conference at a national level.

Our first of many historic Pastoral visit to Africa is set for February 2023 for two months…on the ground.

He is proud to share that his dog, Buddy Smith also received a Diploma in Dog Development from Doggie School.

Paul also loves ministering, counseling, visiting the sick, hiking, swimming, cooking, traveling, crabbing, and most of all, serving others in need.

Overseer Smith is popularly known as a Community Overseer because of his willingness and availability to assist.

His gifting includes, but is not limited sermon preparation, preaching, counsel; coaching, training, finance, church administration, and evangelizing.
